HOLISTIC MAMA

What is a doula?
-
The doula conveys tranquility and confidence simply by being present. Her personal qualities are important, as much as what she knows and does.
-
Through her presence, listening and availability, she promotes a space in which couples can express themselves and develop their own path of fatherhood and motherhood.
-
The doula accepts all people and situations as they are and stays together with families by supporting all of her decisions.
-
She knows the physiological and emotional processes that are related to each stage of motherhood and is constantly training to recycle and update the information at her disposal.
-
It offers ideas and tools during the different stages of motherhood.
-
It complements the work of the health team.
-
In the context of childbirth and the immediate postpartum, she can provide practical support for the logistics of the house to permanently facilitate the bond between the mother and her baby.
-
It is the mother who chooses her and she begins a relationship of trust and intimacy with the families.
-
She does not belong to any branch of the medical corps, nor performs a clinical function, nor makes medical decisions.
-
She may also have other specialties that are complementary to her doula support.
